I'm not sure if there is a "tech" per say... I believe the engine removal talks of removing the transmission and goes into pretty good detail about it... might want to check that out. But if you're going in there, you might as well do a few other things if you're approaching the end of the components' life... clutch, flywheel, rear main, pivot ball, slave, etc...
